Head Coach De La Torre

My name is Michael De La Torre and I am thrilled about the success we have experienced in our football program at Poston Butte High School; our motto is  “Champions Under Construction”.   We look forward to another championship effort this fall as we compete in the 4A conference against other East Valley big schools.

I have assembled a staff that shares the same excitement and drive as I do to make the Poston Butte Football a championship program.  It’s the staff’s goal to provide your children a positive learning experience while playing the game of football.  We have a strong passion for the game as we believe it can be used to teach kids many valuable lessons that will be used on and off the field.  Below I have listed the core values of our program.

Commitment: Be committed to personal excellence.  Balance time so that schoolwork, playing football, and family obligations can be managed.

Integrity: Do what is right. Be honest and loyal to parents, coaches, teachers, classmates, and ourselves.  Respect the school, classmates, staff, and family

Pride: It is a personal commitment: it is an attitude, which separates excellence from mediocrity.

Teamwork: Teamwork is achieved when individuals make personal sacrifices to work together for success of the group.

Discipline: Means mentally and physically tough to continually improve and become the best athlete, coach, student, teacher, and family member we can be.

Effort: Give everything we have in everything we do. Be a player that will work hard and practice to get better. Be prepared and ready to learn in all classes.
